Told you it was only a matter of time before I caved and wrote something for this fandom. As usual, this is depressing and vaguely metaphysical. Don't blame me, blame Jeff Davis: if this show gave me fewer feels I could just write silly pack!fic and be done with it.

Title: Become Like They Are
Fandom: Teen Wolf (MTV)

Warnings: Mentions of canon character deaths, bereavement, discussion of religious/spiritual/philosophical aspects of death I guess?
Summary: Peter Hale is back from the dead and more annoying than ever. Stiles wants to know why.

So apparently I watch this show now. Go figure. Apparently I also rec fiction? I don't know, this is basically a way for me to put these here where I can't lose them. But if you read them and like them you should tell me!

Show You All What the Howl Is For by skoosiepants. Stargate: Atlantis plus Teen Wolf! Seems like a worse idea than it is, mostly because the author has a great command of language and pacing, and because everyone is beautifully in-character. The dialogue made me laugh so hard I got a cramp.

As We Sail It by iontehsparrow. Really nice picture of what the pack's lives might be like in five or so years. Lydia, obviously, has pretty much taken over the world by then. I liked the subtlety and maturity of emotion in this, it rang really true to the characters while also adding a lot more complexity.

We Should Become More Adventurous by skoosiepants. A very sweet AU where Derek has a kid, "anger management" is code for "werewolf", and there are kittens. Like I said, I really like this author's language and pacing.

Bread Crumbs by GoddessofBirth. Stiles finds out about Kate. A short little coda to the end of Season 1 that was really emotionally striking for me. (HUGE triggers for discussion of statutory rape, so tread carefully.) And while you're at it the whole series of vignettes the author has going are pretty awesome.

The Inside Job, by alocalband. Lydia wakes up an alpha. She's awesome at it because she's better than you. I love Lydia, but I mostly like this fic because the ending is pretty much porn for my insomnia.

I Know I'm a Mess You Don't Want to Clean Up by lielabell. ERICA JUST LET ME LOVE YOU. The author describes this as fix-it fic, and it really is, since Erica's character in the show is alternately horrifying and compelling for me. I would actually have loved to see this go further, and see Erica really come into her own as a mature werewolf-lady, but it's pretty awesome as it is. Love the narration voice.

I'll probably write things of my own for this fandom eventually, because I have no self-control or attention span. If I do, this journal is where they'll be, so, uh, stay tuned?

I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS AND THEY CAN ALL BE SUMMED UP AS OVERWHELMING LOVE.

I might write meta at some point. I will definitely write fic. And lots of that fic will be about the OTTeam and their happy fun times...but I need to get some Loki stuff off my chest first.

My life is officially On Hold right now thanks to work. I'm just gonna write these down in a place where I can't lose them so that I can remember to pick them up in 3-4 days when I'm allowed to do things I enjoy again.

Pairing: Mostly Amber-centric gen, with a bit of Bliss/Maven

Warnings: Societal pressures and how they're not kind to any of us.
Summary: So architect hosted a watch-party of the movie "Whip It!" which is full of really pretty women and people getting slammed into walls. Instead of writing anything about any of the main pairings, I was inexplicably captivated by one of the very minor side characters. So I wrote something for her.

Warnings: Brief mentions of past child abuse.
Summary: Arthur loses his memories. I wrote this in late 2010 for the kink meme and only just got around to putting it all together. It is still ridiculously unbeta'ed and shows clear signs of having been a WIP, so if you spot typos or errors or just badly-written things, feel free to point them out.

( There's a fine line between memory and dreams, and sometimes dreams can be terribly destructive places. Sometimes, more than just the dreamworld gets lost.  )

Warnings: Brief mention of excessive violence (serial murder), brief mention of real word situational trauma (genocide and colonization)
Summary: The prompt on the kink meme was: Grimms are not the center of the world. Not only Grimms collected stories; not only Germans have legends of men who can turn into beasts. I'm pretty sure the prompter wanted a story with only one non-Germanic folk creature, but I got over-excited about a chance to actually use my undergrad work in world mythologies.


( So instead Nick learns a valuable lesson about cultural diversity, and Monroe learns a valuable lesson about getting to the sex already.  )

Warnings: None I think? Unsafe handling of dangerous animals?
Summary: Fill for the kink meme, where the request was just something based on the Ballad of Tam Lin. I got very excited and possibly babbled something about ancient Scottish kingship rituals, Elizabeth Bear, and Juliette's hair. 4,000-some words later, Juliette and Monroe team up to fight crime, and Nick is the prettiest damsel in distress.
